Default YCP or Nippon Cast Piston Dealers?

I'm looking to purchase a set of 81.5mm aftermarket cast pistons for turbo b18a ls build. Any of you know a place that sells them other than on ebay?? One of the ebay vendors (that sells nippons) lists the compression ratio incorrectly on their ad. I'd rather talk to a store that is more knowledgeable and see if they are offered in different compression ratios, etc.

So far these are the only 2 I've found (both on ebay).

Nippon:

2 things - cast pistons are terrible for high heat / forced induction. And if you get get the dome/dish volume of the piston you can calculate the actual compression.

I don't recommend them but we do carry the Nippon pistons and rings.

I agree but if the car is gong to see boost here and there and mostly driven on the street then cast will be fine..

On the strip where boost will be full on is another story. Forged will be best.

How whp are you laying down on 24psi? And how many miles have you put on this setup?

I'd rather go with forged, although I've seen pretty good results with the aftermarket cast. A lot of the online vendors don't have the dome/dish volume otherwise I'd calculate it. Speaking of...
Here's an online calculator that I found but I don't think it's accurate. I put in specs for a stock b18a and it calculated the compression to 9.6:1. I was pretty sure stock b18a engines were 8.8:1. Any better calculators out there?

Thats one of the many threads that I've heard good reviews about them. A number of 400whp builds using nippon cast pistons...

400whp here from the white box nippons. I put the motor together early 2011 for my dd. Bottom end has 15k on it. The next motor I put together will be forged though just for peace of mind.

no idea. street tune myself. no real tuners around the area so have to do without. id say somewhere around 300whp though. i put about 10k on it. but those are hard miles with 140mph+ pulls in 5th gear

This thread is like comparing trash to garbage. If I HAD to choose (with a gun to my head) I would probably pick YCP's because you can find them coated on the eBay site.
