Default Suspension Suggestions?

Do you recommend lowering springs or coilovers?
This is how high she's sitting right now.

I know the difference between the two, but I'm just stuck on which to get. I like the stiffness the coilovers give, but the lowering springs are a cheaper way to go without the stiffness, correct?

lowering springs wont drop it extremely low but they will be cheaper. Depending on how much you want to spend I recommend ground control coilovers. They run about $270. That way you can have the ride height you want and the ride is good.

Thank you! Is it really true that all coilovers are the same, you're just paying for the name? I always thought that wasn't the case for everything because some product is different/more reliable than others.

I want to keep my car for however long it will stay alive, ~4 years? So, I don't want to spend too much it, and I wanna go as low as probably 1-2 inches off the ground.

How much is too much?

1-2'' inches off the ground is very low.

A honda will go for damn near ever, if it's maintained properyly. Don't maintain it, and it will bite you in ***, HARD.

I'll spend $500 on coilovers/lowering springs.

They aren't horrible. I have them. I also know from riding on them that they definitely aren't for everyone.

Here ya go, OP. I'll hold your hand a little more this time.

Oh, ok.

I've spent a good amount of time driving my buddy's car with them. I'd toss my skunk2's in a heart beat for them.

ROFL I'd toss Junk2 for some welded in aluminum rods. F/F T1s are good for the price, they just aren't the best for the price.

This, a damned nice user driven resource for getting you on the right direction to a proper suspension for your style.

I personally went for AMR's, I'll see how they ride within the week

Coilover systems arent all the same.

there is a difference inside (monotube/twin tube) there is also a difference in the materials used (cheap aluminum vs. durable aluminum) spring rates also differ which work on par with valving rates. there are many factors that make true adjustable coilover systems vs more cheaply priced items.

you should first decide how you want to build your car. if you want to go for that "slammed" look but dont want to spend so much money, then look for options such as MeganRacing or Racelands (if they make honda applications)

lowering springs are really a thing of the past (for some) they are usually used by enthusiasts who dont want to drastically change the car's suspension geometry to much or for people who are being really cheap

if anything, just buy those ebay adjustable spring/sleeves and pair them up with a good set of shocks

Eibach Sportline Springs/shocks + SPC camber kit and you're good to go!
Not terribly expensive but gives a good ride/drop without beating you to death

And if you wanna get the most out of your suspension work, also think about grabbing/upgrading your sway bars and strut tower braces front and rear to further stiffen the car and improve handling.
Just a friendly suggestion, of course ^^;

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I hate those ******* remarks saying read the stickies and other posts. I want suggestions based off of what I want.

I think I'm gonna go with coilovers, around my price range of $500. I'll shop around.
