92 prelude wheel / lug adapter
Hey ppl...let me get to it. I have a set of 16x7 +38 WORK wheels. 4 lug 4x100...here's m issue..My preludes pattern is 4x114.3 and i want to purchase an adapter therefore converting the ludes pattern to 4x100. Id like some advise on adapter width before i make the purchase. I won't have alot of stud on my hub to play with which means id have to get extended ones, unless there is another car out there with longer ones and same prelude pattern. I know of the Hondas with the same patterns but i don't know the stud length. Ideas anyone??
Most all adapters are 1 inch thick....about 25mm. So with your wheels having a 38 offset, the adapters are gonna put you at a +13 offset. I'm not a fan of adapters but, if you are gonna buy them, then spend a little more money and get some hubcentric ones. And no, you don't need to get extended wheel studs. They need to be short enough to not hit the wheel when you bolt it up.
Agreed..truthfully i am not a fan either...its my first time doing this and the wheels i have doesn't fit my prelude forcing me to seek an adapter. Id hate to change the hub to a civic one not knowing the strength of them compared to the ludes.
You can't actually change your hubs to civic hubs, they just won't work. The only permanant thing you can do is get your hubs and rotors redrilled to a 4x100 bolt pattern. I would just temporarily run the adapters untill you can get some new wheels that fit your lude.
DaMn..your correct.didn't realize it then that i couldn't just change hubs..diff axle..splines..trans..adapter it is then. Thanks again for the assist.
