Where do I buy a good quality D16Y8 engine?
Replacing the d16y8 and looking for insight on the best way to go about purchasing a goox quality engine. Looking for complete engine... thx

Sorry, looking for more of a place that is maybe known and trusted for quality parts... somewhere I dont have to wonder if the engine Im buying is going to turn out to be crap!

The D16y8 is commony found used in yards, or on ebay. Some companies re-build them and sell for $1200. Honestly, I'd try to find a used one with a start up warranty.

$1000 for a D16Y8 longblock and tranny? I sold my COMPLETE motor swap for $520.. I think I'd rather buy 3 longblocks and have two blow than spend $1000 on one..
I'd look some up on Craigslist. Just check under the valve cover, oil pan, behind the exhaust/intake manifolds, and make sure it cranks.

So many people say these motors are a dime-a-dozen, but REPUTABLE companies that offer a warranty don't give them away, no sir.
