93 DX Coupe (No trunk light) - Looking for constant power source near trunk area...
I'm wiring up a trunk light in my DX (since it didn't come with a stock one) and I want to do it the right way. I'm looking for a power source near the trunk area that runs off Fuse No.3 (7.5A - Interior Light).
Would there even be one back there if my car didn't come equipped with a trunk light? Or would I need to run a wire all the way up to just in front of the dome light and splice into it there?

you need to find a switch power that would turn on when the trunk is opened otherwise it will be on all the time while key is on
That's why I'll be running the ground wire for the light directly to the green wire connected to the trunk latch. There's a small mechanism built into the trunk latch that connects the green wire to body ground only when the trunk is open.
On my 1995 dx coupe there was a plug already there it was just tucked up between the metal and the rear shelf where the speakers are. I just went to the junkyard and got the oem light and plugged it in. Check it out
Hmm, I'll have to dig around up there and see if I can find a plug on mine. I opted to get an OEM light from an Integra... they're just like the Civic/Accord lights, except they have an on/off switch built into the housing.
Nope... damn. I just popped the rear shelf off enough to look around under there and didn't see a connector. Nor did I even see a WHT/BLU wire back there in the harness that leads over to the middle of the shelf (which would be the power wire for it). I'll have to head over to Radio Shack tomorrow and pick up some appropriately colored hookup wire and start removing panels up to the left-middle pillar, where the dome light harness leads up to the ceiling.
I essentially have to make my own wire connection highlighted in red below. Maybe I'll take some pics and make a DIY write-up while I'm at it.
I don't think there's one on here yet, unless I'm mistaken.

That guy above who said he already had the connector --- that is the first time I've ever heard of that! Very lucky (and very interesting!)
But as for you, OP, you are going to have to run a wire all the way to either the fuse box or tap in to the dome light, then ground to the green wire from the trunk. I wrote a DIY on this for a hatchback - it's mixed in with my rear wiper and headlight washers DIY so apologies in advance. Link is in sig.

If no one else has it. I'm not sure why mine does. It's a 95 dx special edition if that matters
^ Neat. Could be a "Canadian" thing, or it could be a "Special Edition" thing. You also got a centre armrest, a clock, and power mirrors on your DX SE.
I'll check it out next time I see an SE at the yard.

Yea, I already finished this a couple weeks back. I took pics and might do a DIY for coupes soon. I ended up tapping into the ceiling light power wire (WHT/RED) at the front pillar near the top of the windshield, then tapping into the special GRN ground wire behind the rear quarter panel trim. Then I hooked up the light I pulled off an Integra and there was light! :-)
