90 si high idle problem

Default 90 si high idle problem

so my si was running fine but now its idling high like 3k.it goes up and down and my ac blows hot now.2 days ago i found a leak by one of the coolant lines that run form block to throttle.i fixed it and it ran fine.but yesterday it started idling high up and down and the ac blew hot.any other suggestions i should check on?

try removing and cleaning your iacv if your idle is fluctuating.

If idle is staying steadily at 3k,try messing with the idle set screw.

if that doesnt help,update.

Sounds like your A/C's expansion valve is sticking too. And verify that you have no vacuum leaks.

I took iacv it wasnt dirty but seal was broke so I put rtv.it doesnt idle high.but AC still blows hot and it idle up and down at times.

Use some carb cleaner to check for vacuum leaks, it'll make your idle jump

Ill try carb cleaner.I think my brake booster might be goin out.my brakes go all way down wen I hold it down for a while.it started doin this yesterday.could this lead to all problems im having?

Well I'd think losing your brakes is far more important than a high idle, so fix that first.

Does the pedal get any harder when you pump the brakes?

So I fixed brakes by replacing booster nd master.cylinder.damn thing still idling high.

Check your fast idle thermal valve, its located under the throttle body on the intake manifold. It has two small coolant hoses running to it and three 10mm bolts that hold it on. There is an adjustable set screw in there that more than likely has backed it self out over time.

High idle - also try cleaning the throttle body and make sure the cable is not adjusted too tightly.

A/C - tell us whether the compressor clutch engages and the condenser fan runs when you turn the A/C on.
