Best engine for project Del Sol?
Hi i'm new here and i had a couple of questions. I'm interested in buying a Honda Del Sol as a project car and i was wondering what is the best engine to look for? I've been doing some research and i'm pretty sure its the DOHC 1.6 VTEC. If thats the case then what would be best to do with it... leave it naturally aspirated, supercharge, or turbocharge it? And if the best thing to do is supercharge or turbocharge it are there any kits or whats the best way to find or go about that? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

While you will get a million different answers to you question it really is all a matter of opinion. Everyone like a different motor and they all have good reasons. First off as said do some research on Honda motor swaps, then deiced if you want to go NA or boost (IMO turbo is the way to go not a supercharger).
This is my opinion if you know you want to go all motor then the B18C R or a B20Z Vtec are the best option. If you want to go boost then do a GSR or a Ls Vtec with rods and pistons, sleeved if plan to push past 400whp. If you are not sure if you want to go NA or boost then do a GSR or Ls Vtec since these are a good middle ground.
The B16 in any form is not the best motor to swap IMO, they do like to be boosted. The B16 just has no TQ to speak of and you really cant get much more TQ out of them.
The J swap is hot right now and is sick. A running swap with some slicks has put cars into the low 12's. However there is still very limited aftermarket support for the J series.

Your build is your choice, it's what you'll be happy with, ultimately if your after power, turbo the snot out of it, after fun, go OE build (Harder than you'll think).
You could do a basic swap for power without much modifications to the engine
