Default upper ball joints

both upper ball joints are shot on my crv. can they be pressed out or just replace the whole upper arm? autozone want 80 bucks for one arm with ball joint. and ebays got them for 25 bucks a peice for the whole arm and ball joint. thats kinda too cheap anyone used the ebay ones?

dont buy the cheapo ebay ones (non-name brand). They are GARBAGE. Dorman is good stuff. If you are lowered, get SPC Extreme Adjustable ball joints. They will run you a bit more money, but will be able to last while being lowered as well as being adjustable to fix camber issues.

man, that's cheap. i mean, you're getting the whole arm, ball joint, and bushings for 35$ a piece shipped. can'tgo wrong.
are you sure it's the ball joints though? there is a TSB for the UCA flange bolts on these

ya pretty sure is the ball joint it clunks alot when you hit bumps but when i had it up on stands and move the tire you can clearly see the upper ball joints are horibly worn you can move it quite a bit lots of play in it. but just so i can check what is the uca flange bolts? is that where it bolts to the unibody? will replacing the whole uca fix the flange bolt issue too?

Use a MOOG replacement joint, by far one of the best designs.

Most people opt to replace the arm because they do not want to press the ball joint out, but it is indeed field serviceable. Its your choice.

yes, the flanges are where the A arm bolt to the unibody. just look closely atthe flanges when you're checking your balljoints. make sure the play isn't coming from there.
personally, i wouldn't go with moog. the boots seem to tear easily.
also, with the dorman, you're getting a new arm and bushings. not saying they're the best either, but for the price...

ya it was way cheaper to just replace the entire arm rather then getting moog and press them in and out not to mention the arms also have new bushings where they mount to the unibody.

Make sure to time the bushings while the suspension is in the neutral position, or they will rip out quickly.
