Default Replacing blown d16y8.. what swap to make

So I blew the engine in my BABY and I am looking into getting the engine swapped, but I want to be certain I am going to go with the best engine for my buck! So my question is, from your experience should I stick with the d16 or is there a better engine for the equal cost that I should go with?? I was pretty impressed with the P28 ECU chipped and tuned how sweet that thing ran, but its life is over. So stuck trying to decide if I should give something else a try! Thanks for your input!!!

nothing is going to cost as little as it will to just replace a y8 or z6 in that car.
Unless someone gives you a free B series swap and you just pay mounts/linkages and for basic maint items. You can find good shape y8's for 2-300 bucks. There is nothing else to do either besides tune it up, and drop it in. Any other engine you have much more involved

IMO the best bang for your buck is a GSR swap. If you want to stay cheap do a D16 swap.
