Draining Motor Oil From Transmission
Hi there, I had my clutch done by my mechanic last week and they put 10W-30 Motor Oil in my manual transmission. I didn't feel very comfortable with this so I would like to go out and buy some Honda Genuine MTF. My question is how would I completely drain all of the motor oil from the transmission to have a clean transmission to put the new MTF in? Is it safe for some motor oil to mix in with the Honda MTF? Thanks!
First off, what year is your car? If it's a 92-95, it should use 10w30. If it's a 96-00, simply remove the drain bolt, let it all drain out, and refill it with MTF.
Oh, Sorry, it's a 1998 Honda Civic HX. Would it be alright if some of the remainder motor oil mixes with the new MTF? I was thinking I could drain it, fill it, drive around for a bit to get the fluid moving, then drain and fill again to completely get all the motor oil out of there. I don't want to be mixing fluids... kinda want my car to last a while.

Its ultimately up to you.
