horn botton wont work HELP
ok.. I bought sreering wheel and hub from ebay put everything together .. so I thought I did, conecected the battery back up.. and I pushed the horn botton and it didn't work.. went back to check if I hooked everyting up again and everything seemed to be find.. anyone know what I did wrong? hb dx
Try putting the old steering wheel back on...if the horn works then you know the problem is in your hub or switch. Sometimes the wire can short itself on the inside of the hub. Something may be pinched somewhere or the button could be garbage. I received a horn button as a gift that was defective so I just used my old one that came with the wheel. Check the fuse because if you shorted something out during the install then all of your trouble shooting is a waste of time. Remember that the horn and rear brake light are on the same circuit and nothing else shares that circuit. The fuse is under the hood, not under the dash.
Make sure that the contacts (the wires that attach to the prongs on the back of the button) aren't grounding out on the inside of the hub. Could be a bad button...what brand is the steering wheel and hub?
