Front lights stayed on when car off, now will never come back on!!!
I used the power wire on each front corner light when I switched to depo headlights to give power to the bumper lights, city lights I installed in the highbeams, and intersection lights so they would all be on constant and blink. Everything was working fine until I used the same power wire to power newly installed sidemarkers. It worked for an hour or so. Then I came out of home depot and the headlights were completely turned off but all the parking lights were still on. Then got home and they were all off. Now city lights and sidemarkers will not turn on or blink and the intersection lights and front bumper lights will only blink. All the fuses and lighting relays are good and so are the bulbs.
Does anyone have any Ideas?
With all these mods, somethign couldve burned up. You need to go to whatever isnt working, and look for 12v. Then trace it back, until you get the battery. Keep in mind though, that there is two sides to a 12V circuit. The positive, AND the negative. So make SURE each device has a good ground.
I checked all the fuses with a test light, they are good. So I need to follow the power wire and see where it goes on both sides.
i remember i did something like this to my honda when i did a test after installing everything the + wires were all hot and the - wires were warm to the touch so i just undid everything and got power from inside fusebox instead.. to much amperage. the side markers should of been put on a relay thats what i would of done. same with the intersection lights. i thought those were only meant to stay constant on for curb lighting? if you dont know electrical dont do it.

Agreed, wires are only rated to carry so many amps. This is why they have fuses installed. if you have bypassed the factory controls and just start runnign wire here and there. And not really know what youre doing, you can burn soemthign up easily. Set your car on fire etc

Well, fuses only blow if they have too much current going through them. If there is NO current getting to the device, or no path back to ground. The device just wont work. And the fuse wont blow. With all the extra stuff you put on, theres many potential problems that can happen. To find the problem you have to patiently and systematically check the devices. Eventually you will find the problem. A good diagram always helps.
also you got to remember fuses carry voltage not ground.... usually when you wire to many things to one ground the ground is whats going to fry meaning its not going to blow fuses no wonder you blew some **** on your electrical. you dont even know how things work. thats a big no no when it comes to electrical learn the basics before you ever do any electrical work on ANYTHING
Well, actually, fuses limit the amount of current to pass through them. Current it the amount of electricity(Kinda like the size of a pipe in plumbing), voltage is just how strong it is(Kinda like the pressure of water)
