Diagram of what? just try to pull off the old support and if it doesn't come off then you need to keep drilling.

there's alot of weld spots.... They make a special drill bit thing for drilling out spot welds. Not sure what it's called or looks like, I've just head of it. Think Sears has it?

I just recently did mine, you have to drill out every wield.Make pilot holes with a small drill bit then go over it with a bigger bit to go through the entire wield. You will also need a chisel to make life easier when prying it off.

The tool is called a spot weld cutter.
The proper way is to center punch the spot weld and then use the cutter.
