I just bought an 03 EP3 as my first car. I know a little bit (basics), but I want to learn how to work on cars. I know most knowlege comes from experience, but nobody I know really knows how to work on cars. None of my friends are into it as much as I am. I know a lot about car audio, but i want to expand on that. I just want to know what the best way to learn how everything works, terms, ect.

 

Hey man, im like you. I dont know much about cars either. Before I bought my dc5 I didnt even know how to do an oil change myself.

Since you dont have any friends that know about cars then what you gotta do is hit up those DIY boards and check out the different DIY's you can do. Read read and read! Once your done reading, the only way is to actually get your hands dirty. Dont be afraid to put your car on the lift and start working.

I was scared at first but with patience you learn more and more and start getting comfortable doing more things. I went from doing my own oil change to installing coilovers myself, then doing a clutch install with the help of a friend.

Dont be afraid to ask questions, but before you ask, make sure you search, because chances are your questions are most likely answered 100 times already in many different threads!
