Default 98 Accord Drivers window won't stay clamped to regulator

My drivers window keeps coming out of the clamp that holds it to the regulator. Basically, if I close my window completely, when I open it, the regulator goes down leaving the window in the up position. If I press my hand against the window and apply downward pressue, the window then comes free and I can easily set it back on the regulator. Then, after its back on the regulator, when I try to close the window, the window pitches forward as it goes up. I've tried tightening the bolts but can't tighten any more, I've even tried to shim the clamp with some cardboard to help add pressure, helped a little but not much. I've found the parts diagram for the window assemblys but it shows these clamps as part of the window...anyone run into this before? Online searches haven't turned up anything b/c it isn't a regulator issue and the window isn't really coming off track....

Did you tighten 2 guide bolts, roller guide bolts, and regulator bolts?

I've tried tightening the two that clamp to the bottom center of the window...where are the others located?

With the door panel off operate the window. You should be able to determine what is loose.

Yeah, that's not really helping...based on my original post, I've already had the panel off and determined the clamp isn't maintaining pressure and the clamp I can't find as an individual part. The regulator is fine and secure, however, based on your post I thought I might be missing something like the guide bolts...where are they located? Instead of a generic response, how about some additional detail?

So, still having the same issue. I know this image is of a back window, but it looks the same as my front. Actually, the images of the front that I've found have the 2 clamps on the window much farther apart which isn't the case on mine, mine are only seperated by a few inches. I've marked in the image where my issue seems to be. The circled clamps on the window don't seem to maintian their clamping force and the bracket they fasten to that moves up and down on the slide, has a lot of slop and allows the window to pitch forward when going up which causes it to come out of the window frame. Is there anything else that helps prevent the window from pitching forward that I'm not seeing?
BTW, I stated in my original post that the window was also coming out of the clamps...I was able to take them off and while applying pressure to them wiht pliers, heated them with a lighter (they're just plastic) and squeezed lightly to close the gap. I then let them cool before releasing pressure of the pliers. This helped for a while but didn't fully cure the problem. However, If I could keep the window from pitching forward, I think I'd be okay...

So, a little more research and I realized what I was initially seeing was for the coupes, not sedans which is why the clamps were further apart. Before I order a new regulator with track assembly though, is there anything else that should be keeping the window from pitching forward? If not, I'll assume the part that connects the window to the track is just worn and now has excessive play in it...

The threads on the window are probably stripped. You need to put a smaller size LOCKING NUT and bolt in to fix with Red Loctite. Or buy a new window.

Threads aren't stripped...bolts tighten completely.

I have problem with the clamps but no play or tilting in the window. The motor works fine but track clamps have lost grip. Did you have to replace the entire regulator or can you get replacement clamps?

I fixed this redneck style with duck tape. i just layer a few stripped over the window so it lined up with the 2 clamps and then pushed them into the clamps with some lite force. Been working like a champ, but it is my rear DS window that doesn't get much use.

I removed the clamps and then squeezed each one with channel locks while heating them with a lighter. Maintained pressure after heat was removed and let them cool before releasing pressure which tightened them up. Also put in some automotive grade 3M double sided tape. Helped some but not completely and I realized the track for the front ofthe window (forward most part of door by mirror) has dried out and window was binding which was what was causing it to pitich forward when puttng window up. Sprayed it with some lithium grease which helped for a few weeks but it's sticking again. Will have to find something better as I use my window every day.
