Bumper repair... what to use
i have an sir front end for my 91 hatch and the bumper has some bad gouges in it
bumper repair place wants $200-$300 to repair
what can i use to repair it myself, what bonds well to a poly plastic surface? thanks
is the polyurethane torn? one time my friend put a good fist size dent in his rear bumper, so he brought it to an acquaintances shop. All then did was heat gun it a lil bit and nudge the dent from the other side and pushed it out. Looks like nothing happened at all, except for the tiny scratches from the colision.
daym.. i forgot the name of what i bought at Kragen, but it worked really well. its made for bumpers and plastics. its flexible and holds pretty good. its not pre-mixed.. you gotta mix it. its better that way so the catalyst helps it dry and hold up.
the bumper is not buckled like your friends it just has some deep scraches in it like it rubbed against a stucko wall or something
dlplayboy LMK if you figure out what you used

if it's poluurethane then you would have to use a heat gun and melt it and then pop it out..thats is the only way cause the bondo will crack right off easily..
