Subwoofer Issues 1990 Honda Hatchback
Bought a set of 2 10" MTX Thunder 6000's with the amp to match.
Wired it all up with nice matching 4gauge for both power and ground.
So I get it all done, and test out each subs performance individually, and they sound good!
I go to hook up both at the same time, and then all of a sudden i get
THUMP THUMP THUMP THUMP non stop...
even with the volume down low.
I am def not a car stereo pro but have done a few installs in my lifetime, and have never had this issue before.
Suggestions?
Once again..one sub(either one) runs great. Both together(even when bridged from the other sub) makes that horrible THUMP THUMP THUMP....
Help!!

MTX Audio Thunder4250D Amp
MTX Audio THunder6000 series dual 10" subs.
All wiring is correct from the back of the subs to the amp.
Also, remote ground and Power are all nicely done, snug, and tight.
No blown fuses...however my HU is OLD...came with the car. Pioneer old *** thing....

The subs come in different ohm configuations
Some come in 4, 8, and 12 ohms.
If they're wired down to an ohm load the amp itself cant handle, you'll get the issues you stated. I need exact model #

I took out one sub. On the back of the magnet, it says MTX Audio, Thunder 6000 4 ohms...

Cool.
That means you have 2 single 4 ohm subs.
Wire them exactly as that diagram shows and your issues should be gone.
Did you set the gain?(the ***** on the amp) or did you just leave them as is?

I havent touched the gain....I bought the subs and amp off my cousin just about 2 hours ago. With the wiring kit....sounded great in his car.
That is why I am confused. The amp is screwed into the back of the box between the speaker terminals....I have 2 seperate speaker wires...one set per sub.
is this not the proper way?
Sorry if i sound clueless....lol

The amp has this written on th back of it :
125 watts rms x1 into 4 ohms
250 watts rms x1 into 2 ohms
350 watts Dynamic Power x1 into 4 ohms
Ideas? Should I single bridge one sub, then lead the 2nd sub off the first?
Is this amp not biult for both?

YOu have to take the subs out of the box and see how they're wired.
That amp has 1 channel, so you should have 1 set of wires to the amp, not 2.
See in the diagram?
One negative
One positive

In the box, they are just wired individually....so one run full side positive, and then the other in negative, then connect to the amp, in a single +/- connection?
Box is all wired. The positive from the back of the one side, is connected to one sub and then to the 2nd sub in a nice chain.
Same goes with the Negative. So i will only be hooking up one single pos and neg wire to the actual box from the amp correct? Do i bridge the amp, or just go side by side?

You have to wire the subs together as the diagram states.
If wired right, you should have 1 set of wires
One negative wire & one positive wire
YOu said there were 2 sets of connections on the box.

This is what you do.
With that set of wiring that you have, connect the wires to 1 of the terminal cups.

I did like you said...ran one single speaker line from one terminal to both subs inside.
Left the other terminal unused.
Thank you for your help! Much appreciated!
