Default can't take off skunk2 ****> locking nut stripped

i bought a civic w/ skunk2 **** & skunk2 short shifter. Well the previous owner worn out the locking nut on the shift ****, where i can't get any grip on it. I tried pb spray, wd40, vice grip on the nut, metrinch wrench, and also even try to hammer a smaller combo wrench around the nut (out of frustration)...any suggestions?

cut it and replace with a stock shifter is my vote.

could try a nut cracker to split the nut but a lot of times it damages the threads its on. If you have the correct size die though you could fix that.

You can cut off the nut without damaging the shifter

no doubt

fwiw, short shifters suck anyway. i'd cut the f'er in half and buy a new one off ebay for $12 shipped.

Avoid the Skunk2 unit and go back to stock.
The OEM GS-R shifter has a nice throw and can be made to fit into a civic with little modification.
