Default Has Anyone done a Accord Euro Type-R conversion?

Just curious to know. How difficult is it to do a Euro Type-R engine conversion in a 94-97 model accord? Is it worth the money? Or would you just do a Prelude engine conversion? I don't know much about this and I am in the learning process. In a few months I might need to get a new engine for my accord so.... Thanks for you answers..

type r = h22a
prelude = h22a

one will not be any harder to install than the other

It's not difficult, both motors go in the same way, but the Euro-R is way overpriced. For 2-3k less, depending on where you get it from, you can get the prelude h22. Then with the left over money you were going to spend on the Type-R H22, you can build your motor. just my .02

OK, i support them, do a search and read over.
To help you, go to this site www.h22a.com and click on specs, as you can see the Accord Euro Type-R is just a H22A with different cams and compression plus the beauty of LSD, my advise (and i guess everyone on this site) is buy the H22A and rebuild it and get some aftermarket cams and if you want the whole rebuilding and pistons, etc and buy a LSD (aftermarket), and VOILA! you have a H22A Accord Type-R, and if you did some other stuff, faster!

O, but before you start building your engine decide which way you are going NA or turbo, so you won't spill money going the wrong way.

Is it worth it? i am not very sure, i haven't done my swap, but hey! STOCK horsepower, it sounds good to me.
almost everyone is happy with the H22A in their cars
hope it helps

Thanks guys for the info. Seems like I got alot of searching to do. But one another question. I heard that the H22A does not like being turbo 'ed. is this true? Thanks again..

Anything with high compression doesnt like any type of forced induction due to the risk of detonation.

Compression isnt an enemy if you can tune it well.

Lisa Kubo's low 9 second hatch runs 12:1 compression with plenty of boost.

But with our applications and resources it is an enemy.

She's also got an insanely built motor, a stand alone engine management system and, and runs on race gas. Did I mention its a race car?

But it is a type-r engine. the engine is built by hand and fully tuned. That is what you pay for.

Yeah no ****.

My point was that it can be done. But like I said, with our resources, purpose, and application isnt not very feasible.
