Broken trailing arm bushing bolt

Default Broken trailing arm bushing bolt

I have a 97 Hatch I am doing a rear disc swap and integra front brakes on the front. While taking off the rear trailing arm, the 2 inside bolts of the bushings (left and right side) have become very tight while taking them off, The passenger side one broke in half right at the bottom if the threads up inside the car.

I took my back seat out, figured out where the top of the bolt was and cut o hole, it's obvy rusted.

Has anyone else had this issue and if so, how did you fix it.

It's very frustrating and just getting some input from others.

Where the car is located, I do not have access to a torch, nor to a good welder(just my little one from harbor frieght).

Get the captured nut out of there, replace it and the bolt.

If you can get to the bolt thru the inside of the car, go that way. The other option is to go under the car and a cut a hole.

well, i cut a square out around the hole, but it's not attached to it. There is a cylinder thing that goes up another inch or so and is welded to another plate between the outside and inside of the car. I cut a hole from the inside of the car above where the bolt goes, and it's welded to something i can't simply cut off.

Well, I ended up cutting a hold under my rear seat above the bolt, drilled it out and got 2 bolts a little longer and a nut to weld onto the car.
