car starts and runs with remote start but doesn't using the key
car is a 94 Civic Si. So I wired up a remote start in my car. I soldered all my connections. No CEL. battery is above 12.5 volts
I noticed after I tried to start my car with my key it would crank, start, then die. Then it won't fire up at all. It would crank good but no fire. My fuel pump would not prime after the second try of starting. I would wait like ten minutes then it would fire up using my key.
When I use my remote start the car fires up everytime.
what could be my problem?

Sounds like a bad key cylinder. As the remote start just mimics the key being turned.
Remember this is my first soldering job on a main relay
What it looked liked when I took it out

What I needed to desolder

Desoldered and resoldered

Before solder

After solder

This is not your problem if the car fires up everytime with the remote start and not the key like you posted. Smh. If you think this is the problem then you really have no ideal on how remote start works. Its no different then using the key.
I guess I have no idea how my remote starts like you say

I am trying to help you. What you typed does not go to what you are saying. You said you started the car with the remote and no problems. But when you use a key. There is a problem. This is what you wrote. The main relay does not know remote start from the key. So this leads to a broken key cylinder switch. But you seemed to fix the problem. That was part of the problem you stated. So I am done here. Good day.

When I use the remote start means its the first time I start the car in the morning...just for the AC to cool the car. This means the main relay hasn't been used so it is cold. When I used the key is after the car has been used (20 mins) and only been sitting for less than 3 minutes...which is when i'm just dropping people. So the main relay has been used and hot. which expands the solder joint and contracts it when not in use.

Then when I happened again...I thought about it at what makes it happen. That's why I told you it's the main relay.
But thank you for your prompt replies.
