You would set it to a place to get it rebuild. I believe normal cost is around $75-$125 depending on place and what all needs to be replaced on the turbo.

And pick an intercooler that fits in your bumper and your find. If your not aiming for 400hp+ then ic size isnt that big of a deal if you keep it mid size.

Hehe. umm no. The parts of a rebuild kit may be about $125, but not for service and rebuild. Those are crackhead prices right there. Especially if its for a Garrett.

yeah you can do it yourself easy, if you are just doing the seals. I dont know why everybody here thinks you have to pay a bunch of money to have something done. Search youtube for turbo rebuilds. its not that complicated to do the seals, bearings. just make sure you mark the wheel, shaft and nut before you take it off. so when you put it back together it is still balanced

Just remember that you are not changing a couple grommets. The term "seals" is horribly misused on this forum. Changing the turbine shaft sealing ring itself isn't hard, but you must know the signs of whether or not the turbine shaft itself is damaged which is much more expensive than just a "rebuild kit". So make sure you know what you are looking at when taking it apart. A compromised shaft is not always easy to spot that makes a quick "rebuild" into a costly investment

Not crack head prices. I known people who have them rebuild for those prices and been up n running for some years. Just your basic seal replace and cleaning.

People lots of time think its a rubber grommet like TheShodan stated. Its a metal ring similar to a piston ring. They rarely just go out, there is a reason they go out. It might be worth it to pull it apart and look but odds are it needs a new turbine wheel/shaft which will require a fresh balance and is not something you can do at home.
