Thinking bout picking up some arp rod bolts for 40 bnib for b18 locally... seems hella cheap. is there anything i should look out for or ask before i go through with transaction? how much do they usually go for? i saw some for like 200?

"Too good to be true" comes to mind.
Doubtful they are BNIB.

 

B18B1- is much less expensive than the B18C1

 

Yeah that comes to mind also which is why im here, to make sure i dont get ripped off> lol and also the guy said that b18b and b18c are same... i think otherwise. Are they or are they not? How can i verify authentication?

 

B18C and B16's are 9mm

B18B/B20 are 8mm and half the price..

single cam's also use the 8mm.

ive used them in 2 motors. one of them needed to have the rods rehoned, the other didnt.

 

I'm using a set on my setup. I take it to 8200rpm on a daily basis... but I have an ITR oil pump and posted the block. seems to be working fine. My 3rd year putting mileage on the same motor lol

 

I got my ARP LS rod bolts from my machine shop brand new for $40. You do have to get them honed to fit like blackeg said.

ARP made these to swap right in.. this is straight from ARP

its the 9mm ones that need the rods resized

 

I'd still be checking the big ends regardless personally. Saying that, I think big end roundness should be checked on every assembly.
