Dome Light bright when switched to Door, but not bright when switched to On, flickers

Dome Light bright when switched to Door, but not bright when switched to On, flickers
So here's the situation
It's a 1998 Honda Civic CX Hatchback if that matters.
- Switching it to "Door", it will be satisfactorily bright
- Switching it to "On", it won't be nearly as bright, and flickers on and off

maybe your wiring is messed up somewhere. but it couuld be when it is on its constantly needing power and when its on door it only uses when door is open but idk lol

sounds like a wire issue. Check connections for possible wear/corrosion. I had a similar problem and it was a worn out wire that was barley in tact.
