Yes you need to get a P72 ecu first then wire vtec, knock sensor, and the IAB if you have a stock intake manifold.

Yea you can get it chipped ect. but if your not gonna mod it muc just get a stock gsr ecu the same year as the motor.

You can buy a wire harness from rywire.com to convert all the vtec ect plugs to connect to the ls harness. its no more than $160 i think.

since you say you don't think te vtec wires are hooked up! why do you think this? because if you came to the conclusion based on that the motor will not engage vtec than your wrong cause that would go back to the ls ecu.

post pics so we all can see the mayhem! than get a gsr ecu and see how it runs! see if there's check engine codes ect..

I had these in my phone from when I wired te vtec knock and iab.
It's very simple takes about 20-30 mins max.
I got a wicked deal on te car because vtec wouldn't kick.

The wiring portion of the swap isn't too hard to do.

Super easy to wire, make sure you let the car warm up before you go cracking vtec. Who knows when the last time it was engaged.

A couple ways to figure out what obd your car is.

Gsr engine specific. Your head will be stamped with either p72-1 or p72-2

Very easy. I paid $125 for my obd1 p-72 ecu off ebay. I waited till someone with a over priced ecu couldn't sell it then I made a offer he accepted.
