Bad Head gasket? in D16z6
I have a 94 civic ex, Engine was swapped about 6-7 months ago. I have had some oil leakage problems for awhile now. New valve cover gasket, New oil pan gasket. But i'm still getting a little leakage. Oil is all over the engine from the D16Z6 signature down. and i have oil in between the spaces on my header. It's not a horrible leak but i can't stand having an oil leak so i need to fix this. I started doing everything on my car my self after the new engine was swapped. So i want to replace this my self. I have never done a head job the most i have done is take off my valve cover paint it, and replace the gasket. Is this something i could do by my self and not have much of a problem? If so i'm going to need a list of tools and a little explaining on what i need to do. This engine only has 90,000 miles so id rather not replace the engine all together.
Did you replace the ring seal on distributor? Did you clean the valve cover thoroughly and apply some sealant when you put on valve cover gasket? Is the oil coming out from the gap between transmission and engine block? More details and picture would be helpful. Head gasket leak is internal. Don't jump over and skip a lot of basic steps.
