Ok so here is my dilemma, I have a JDM H22 in my 94 prelude which I cannot smog. Is there anyway to get this car to pass legally? If I put in a usdm H22 will it be legal? if I cannot get the JDM to pass and the USDM is legal is anyone out there willing to trade straight across?

Did your prelude come with a H22 from the factory?

 

my prelude did not, The year was available with the h22

 

Have you tried smogging it?

 

yea I put it through and the tech didnt notice or care it was jdm but it failed pretty bad. I thought it failed because it was jdm spec I could be wrong

 

check the paperwork. Why did it fail? visual? functional? emissions?

 

visual becuase of after market header which is easy to fix, also failed emissions my lude is a gross polluter.

 

Well, obviously he overlooked the engine swap part. Post the numbers. What was your HC,O2,Co,Co2,and nox and and what speeds.
