98 base prelude, jdm h22
I am using a p13, obd1 distributor with ckp and tdc run to the plug down by the oil pump, and external coil.
I have read all the threads I can find on this conversion and I double checked all my wiring.
The problem.
I cant turn the engine over more than 2 or 3 revolutions and the starter shuts off. If I pull the plug wires off it will turn over as long as I keep the key turned. Same thing if I disconnect the coil.
Is the factory immobilizer causing an issue or does it just not function when you run a obd1 ecu? Why wont the starter function properly when the plugs are getting spark?
Thanks for any help
Forgot to mention that the car started fine before the swap, it just had a bottom end knock.

Bump
Why will the starter only turn the engine over 2 to 3 revolutions but then I pull the plug wires off and it turns over fine?
Its like as soon as power isnt going to the plugs then it has enough power to keep turning the starter?
Someone has to have dealt with this
