Default Another Civic Problem Thread - No Power To Main Relay

My problem is my car won't start, I'm getting power to my dizzy but it won't spark. My fuel pump is not getting power. Neither is my main relay.

The car is 95 Civic Ex with a 00 LS swap. Stock wiring harness.

I have checked all my fuses and they are good. I tried two dizzys before I checked everything else out. Multiple ECUs and main relays, all working before and after in other cars.

I'm pretty sure it's the wiring from the previous owner (wire tucked and had alarm)

Please let me know where to start, I just pulled the dash..

What wires/terminals of the man relay don't get voltage?

I had a test light and with the relay out I touched it to each wire and it didn't light up on any. I'm not sure which ones are supposed to.

Thanks for the quick response.

Your 15A hood ECU fuse #31 is almost surely blown.

It looked fine but I replaced it, then I put the test light on both side of the fuse and it lit up.

Sounds good. Unplug the main relay and check whether the Yel/Wht wire terminal in the connector has battery voltage to body ground with the key OFF.

I don't know what I was doing wrong last night, but the yellow/white wire has power with the key off and on. The black/yellow wire has power with the key on.

I tried a different main relay then tried to re solder mine. I didn't do a very good job.

I'm using a stock civic ex wiring harness and a Phearable.net ecu.

I've tried 2 stock ls computers and got the same results.

Everything worked fine about 2 weeks ago. I had a B20 swap, I reused my trans, clutch, flywheel, bolt ons, harness, and pretty much everything else. I'm now having the problem.

Ok had a prob like this. Look at your under dash fuse pannel, find upper right section there is a 15a fuse in a yellow (srs) connector also fused that 15a fuse has to be blown, if it is take alt off have tested that fuse has something to do with alt.

OBD1 ECU, right?

Unplug ECU connector A. Turn the key to ON(II) and then ground the A7 terminal in the ECU connector. Does the fuel pump run? Try the same test on the A8 terminal.

Not sure what the alternator has to do with it, but my srs fuse is good.

Yes all obd1 ecu. I grounded but A7 and A8 but the fuel pump still did not kick on. The car used to be automatic before I owned it. The colors of my wires were different then the pinout I was using.

A7 and A8 pin to Grn/Yel wires in ECU connector A. You need to ground those one at a time.

When I ground the grounds on connector A the light barely lights up and the main relay clicks. None other are lighting up. So my Im not getting any power to connector A.

Don't use a test light to ground the terminals. It has too much resistance. Use a piece of wire.

I was meaning when I put the test light on the ground terminals on connector A it lights up just a little bit.

I grounded A7 and the fuel pump did not turn on. Same with A8. The yel/blk wire isn't getting power either.

The test light doesn't get bright because the voltage is dropped by a resistor inside the main relay.

Key off -- Unplug the main relay and jump terminal 1 (Yel/Wht wire) to terminal 7 (Yel/Grn wire) in the connector. Does the fuel pump run?

I replaced my engine harness and my fuel pump kicked right on. I got spark but the car still wouldn't start. I did a compression test all cylinders were really low.

Thanks for all the help Ron.
