Jerking when shift gear = Bad transmission?
2000 Honda Accord SE, 2.3L, auto, 198K miles.
When i shift gear from first gear to second gear, the car jerks and the rpm go to between 2000-3000. However, if i do not press on gas pedal while gear shifting from 1 to 2, it changed gear smoothly, it only happend on first gear to second gear, the rest of gear shifting go smoothly.
This problem stay with me since the day I got the car for 5 years now. If it is a transmisson problem, the car should has death long time ago.
I decided to tear down this car to find out the problem. Your valuable advises will be greatly appreciated.

Honda transmissions in my experience do not like fluids other than those from Honda them selves. I had a guy who thought his trans was going, I told him to drain and fill with honda fluid. It shifted smooth as butter! Try that you might be pleasantly surprised.
Thanks guys for your valuable opinions and your supports of my theory that IS NOT A BAD TRANSMISSION problem!!!!
I have faith on Honda!!
I will drain the ATF 3 times as suggested and report back to you guys.

Did as you recommend and added Lucas at the last refill. The result is amazing!!!! Thanks fork!
I was disspointed in the beggining but after i drove for 2 days, i finally see the result and bring a smile to my face
Sharing an experience here to everyone who have faith in Honda and not get ripped off by some unethical mechanic telling you to replace/rebuild your tranny which will cost u at least $1400, i got it fixed by myself cost me less than $100.
Note: You won't really see immediate result by adding Lucas until you run for at least 100 miles.
