i have a 97 ex 5sp without a engine harness, just put a new y8 into it. i have a 96 dx 5sp harness in my garage and wanted to use it. do i have to add anything other than the vtec wiring?

If you are using the DX harness (yes, even Manual harness) the IACV wiring will consists of 3 wires (engine harness)
The D16Y8 engine (If engine is manual) will have a 2 wire IACV (located on the back of intake manifold)

The DX harness has primary and secondary O2 sensors integrated into the engine harness.
The EX harness has an primary O2 sensor integrated into the engine harness and the secondary O2 was integrated into the chassis harness. Therefore, you will have an extra O2 plug left over if using the DX harness.

You will have to do the following to the engine harness, not including adding additional wiring from ecu to sensors (vtec solenoid, vtec pressure switch/ground, and knock sensor)






Honestly, it would be much less of a pain to source an 96-98 EX harness.

 

thanks man... no its a manual harness, so much info with the mini me, i wasnt sure about the iacv. btw does anyone know what sensors need extended off hand? btw the 2nd shock tower plug thats not on the dx harness is that for the tach / 2nd o2?
