Hello, a new guy here.
I just bought a new drivers side power window regulator with motor from
Thepartsbin.com for my 2000 Civic EX, and got it all installed and the motor runs backwards. Rather than send it back I thought maybe a tech on here could tell me which wires to swap in the plug to reverse the polarity and if I can actually just change the location of the wires in the plug that comes from the car.

Yeah sure - swap the RED/YEL and RED/BLU in the 4-pin connector leading to the window actuator. That should do it.

Hmm, to the OP: We don't know the year of your car. My instructions are for a 5th Gen 92-95 Civic but if yours is a 6th Gen 96-00 then the wiring colour might be different.

Just checked ... colours are the same.

On the male side of the connector, these might be mated up with RED and YEL, or they might continue as the same colour.... for the OEM window actuator (regulator) of course. If your replacement actuator is aftermarket these colours may be different again. Regardless, if you swap the female side you're home free.

 

Thanks, I finally realized there was another little white plug near the motor with only two wires in it so I swapped those two in the plug. They were yellow and blue. My son is the one that swapped out the regulator not me. I was thinking it was hard wired coming out of the motor all the way to the connection at the switch. Once I realized there was a plug with only two wires in it, it was a no brainer.
