Icon2 89 wagon just B swapped Starts but dies after running.

Just swapped my 89 wagovan got it to start. thought timing was out the cams were adjusted so I zeroed them out. Car will start but dies after running for ten fifteen seconds the cel comes on for a second and the car dies. Also the car runs better when map is disconnected. Was the same way when the d15 was in it. Any ideas would be appricated

try a different map sensor...could be the problem and when its unplugged your ecu is going into a limp mode

check your wiring for the map sensor too....are you sure you have the plugs in correct location... ive seen a few people plug stuff in wrong places and fight with a problem for weeks lol

Map sensor wiring on a 88-91 civic/crx is part of the body harness I don't think you can plug the Tps into the map sensor, it's not long enough to reach

Changed map no luck. I got it to fire up finally but it was in limp and didn't want to stay running.

OBD1?

For 92-95 Civics, you must pull over to the side of the road when the CEL light turns on and then jump the service connector to pull code while leaving the engine running.

since your using an ecu jumper you should have a loose wire (OBD1 ecu pin D4) just ground it and your check engine light code should flash on the dash board
