stock 94 gsr DB8 looses power
ok well just what the title says i can be driving or just sitting in the driveway just dies out on me. ive replaced the battery, plugs, plug wires, oil change. ive also checked the alternater, starter, and checked fuses my next thing to check is the fuel pump. any other ideas to resolve would be appreciatated. thanks
When it stalls, [dies out on me] can you restart it right away?
If not, [will not restart right away] have you listened for the fuel pump priming when you turn on the ign. switch to the run position, [not all the way to start]?
If you turn on the ign. switch, does the CEL come on and then turn off after two (2) seconds?
Please answer all the above.
Both the coil and PGM-FI Main Relay are susceptible to intermittent heat related failure, so is the ICM, [Ignition Control Module] but less so, the ICM tends to work or not work, very seldom are they intermittent.
The first test is to listen for the fuel pump, the PGM-FI Main Relay intermittent failure is the most common problem on older Honda/Acura and the easiest to fix, [in most cases]...

If you do not hear the fuel pump priming, there are a few simple tests to determine if the problem is the PGM-FI Main Relay, the fuel pump itself, [also susptable to intermittent failure] or just a fuse or wiring issue.
For testing you should have a 12V test light, [not the LED type] and a paper clip.
Let me know what you find, feel free to PM me. 94
