Default Is this the thermostat?

Can anyone tell me what part this is? The motor is an OBD2 B18B. It sits right under the intake manifold on the left side.

Coolant inlet for the fast idle thermo valve.

The thermostat housing is down below that, you can almost see it in the pic. The lower radiator hose leads to it.

Ok thanks. Is there a gasket underneath? My car started overheating yesterday and coolant was spraying out of it.

check the black hose connecting to it, they are known to crack and spray coolant out.
