No Vtec crossover after oil change...
Sup I just changed the oil on my 02 type s today. Put in 5 qts of Mobil 1 5w30 synthetic. Replaced the oil filter with a bosch filter. I do not feel or hear a vtec crossover after changing my oil. Could not filling up the oil filter with oil cause vtec not to engage? Cause I didnt fill it up. You think I need to add more oil to the engine, i was pretty low on oil before the change. Around 3-4 qts came out from the oil pan. Also, my maintenance required light flashes on startup for about 5-10 seconds. Could this be because im low on oil? I dont have a low oil pressure light on... or a check engine.
what mods do you have? could you hear vtec before?
and no not putting oil in the filter beforehand wont cause anything. it gets oil flowing through it as soon as the engine is on.

if the CEL or oil light isnt on and the car drives like before i wouldnt worry about it. check the level line on the dipstick and add if needed. 5 quarts should have been enough.

To the OP, your car is fine. But next time you check to see if VTEC is still working, do it WHEN YOUR ENGINE IS HOT. When you punch the gas when your engine is still cold, VTEC will not engage, but you will still be able to take it to redline. Be careful dude, in my opinion you should wait until the ECT gauge is at least a quarter of the way up until you try to engage VTEC
