89 crx project help!
First of it says d15b2 on the case but looks like it has a dm15b vtec? Yesterday it would turn over slowly but wouldn't start. Now I can't get it to turn over and it has a charged battery. I notices the solenoid behind the distributor doesn't have anything plugged into it and the green ground wire is cut. Were would this be? Why wouldn't it be turning over it even has a new starter???
I forgot to mention the battery warning light is on even with a charged battery( even tried a big battery). Also all the lights in the car such as the climate control ones dim when I turn the key all the way. PLEASE HELP.!

That just looks like your vtec isn't connected you can just take your alternator off and see if its good at kragen(vatozone) for free. Buzzing sound should mean your fuel pump is priming.
if it says D15B2 on the block its a "mini me" that looks to be a D16Z6/jdm D15B head, the previous owner probally put that head on and never wired it up right, thats why your vtec solenoid isnt hooked up, do you know what ECU your running?
also make sure the starter is wired up right
That's what I thought, how do you check what ecu? Can you somehow show me or tell me how the starter is suppose to be hooked up?
I got in and tried to crank it at random today then it turned over once unexpectedly, I tried it again and all the interior lights dimmed. I'm gonna try and charge it again tonight. I need to find a voltage tester
the ECU is located underneath the passenger side carpeting under the dash, pull the carpeting back and usually theres a goldish colered cover there with 4 10mm bolts, if somebodys been there before you might not have the cover, but look on the ecu and there sould be a 3 letter/number code (examples=PR4, PM6, P72, etc) and that'll tell you witch ECU you have, usually the most common one for a mini-me, or any v-tec swap is a P28 (my opinion atleast) but that dosent mean thats you need that one to run your motor, its just an option, your best bet is seeing which one your running right now, im guessing since your v-tec solenoid isnt hooked up its probablly a PM6 or a PO6 or something of that sort

Will it run ok without the vtec? I got it to turn over again but still cranks slowly. It will backfire occasionally when I'm trying to start it, suggestions?
