Brakes making a weird noise?
Yesterday I was test fitting a wheel on my 00' GS teggy and after I placed my old wheel back on and drove around, my rear left brake started to make this slight eee eee eee eee eee noise when driving 20 mph and lower. I don't hear it though when I drive anything above that. But whenever I hit the brakes it begins to make this loud EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE sound. What's causing this?
Most likely your brake pads are worn down. If so, you're hearing the warning tab making the noise it's supposed to make to warn you that the pads are in need of replacement.
That's what I was thinking as well, but it's strange how it happened right after I put my wheel back on. It has me thinking that I damaged something some how, but all I did was remove and wheel and put it back on.
Probably coincidence. To my defective mind, it would make more sense to pull the wheel off and take a look rather than post more questions here.
Did you properly torque the wheels. It's possible that it's a coincidence that the brakes wore out at the same time as you changing wheels around. Also, installing different wheels and torquing them down might have slightly shifted the rotor to a different position where it squeeks more.
