some one please help.
Alright i dont know to much about hondas and i have a question and hoping to find an answer even tho i know it could be multiple things. well i have a 92 honda prelude type s 2.2 liter. and lately i been having this issue when im driving everyonce in a while for some reason it will like loose power for about 5 seconds and then catch it self and its literally like 5 seconds it just basically looses power and slows way down for a second and then runs back to normal and just today it did it like back to back about 5 times. i was in 5th gear and going about 30 mph threw my neighborhood and it just like looses power and its really starting to **** me off bc i have to keep throwing money into this car. someone please help give me some ideas on what it could be thanks.
Does it simply bog down when it loses power, or is it like popping down loss of power. Usually a good way to tell you which side to start troubleshooting. Make sure that you check all of your vacuum lines as well.
it kinda like bogging down and just completly slows down for like 3 seconds and then goes back to normal and thats what i was thinking it was a vacuum line but like how do i check those and find which one it is or even if it is a vacuum line bc there are so many in my car how do i find which one it could be?

Is it possible that your engine/ac fan came on while you were in 5th @ 30mph? That might cause your car to bog.
Try going "threw" [lol] your neighborhood in 3rd @ 30mph and see if you bog.
BTW your 'lude is a 1992 Prelude S, with an F22A1 SOHC non-VTEC, not a Type-S with an H22 DOHC VTEC.
Just so you're not confused in the future ...
[I have the same thing in my driveway, but mine is a bit modified]

i wasnt in 5th gear lol my bad didnt mean to put that and i just sprayed my vacuum lines and my rpms never reved up so if it isnt that which it still could be im going to check again when it stops raining but is there anything else or any other reason it would do that ?
Have you made any changes to your car recently? Anything? At all?
What is the condition of the wiring in your car? Do you see a bunch of mickey mouse stuff under the hood? Did you or a previous owner decide to do their own wiring with bubble gum and electrical tape?
Have you opened the dizzy to check the condition of the cap and rotor?
I have a Vx Civic that the bolt fell out of the rotor and was bouncing around in the dizzy that caused it to bog and stutter.
You could have a dead spot in your TPS which would cause it to bog. Not sure how to test this tho.
Do you have access to a chipped ECU like Hondata or Neptune? You could drive around and data log until it happens and see what parameters change.
You could have a fuel pump that is dying, getting hot and cutting out.
You could have water in your gas tank.
You could check the condition of your spark plugs/wires.
You could have an old fuel filter that is getting clogged.
Should I throw out more ideas?
The internet is a good place to look when you have tried all the basics, but we can't do it for you.

The IACV surge can make the motor feel like its bogging a bit when you are idling along, but that would go away if you put your foot into it a bit.
Basically the IACV lets air pass the throttle plate in the throttle body, if its misbehaving you would see idle surge because it would open and close irregularly causing the idle to rise when its open and drop off when its closed.
So if you don't have some kind of idle surge, I would look at this as a lower priority.
