Default 97 dx wiring harness issue

hey guys i have a 1997 civic dx with a b16 motor and b18 tranny. I have a problem with my wiring harness somewhere because my speedometer doesnt work and idk whats causing it. I have check the wiring at the sensor, the gauge and the ecu and they are all reading 4.8 volts ive also replaced the speedometer gauge and still nothing. My tach and other gauges work but my odometer/trip/and speedo dont so what im gonna do is probably replace the harness. I need to get a new ecu because the current one is for an automatic but what im wondering is would it be easier to buy a new dx wiring harness and a jumper to the new p30 or should i try to find an obd1 wiring harness and run the wires. I obviously have no clue what im doing and need some help. The current ecu has been wired straight into the obd2 wires. So basically the obd1 wires from the p30 are stripped and wired straight into the obd2 wires. Thanks in advance for the help and i appreciate everything!!

you can't use an obd1 wiring harness anyway, so you're gonna have to find another 96-98 harness.
