I've gotten conflicting answers in my search...... My B20b is the high compression with a P75 LS head but I have a P8R head I want to throw on it but unsure if I need a one layer or multi layer head gasket and which do I order for, the P8R head or the block?

 

Just get the b20 head gasket and then enlarge the dowel holes to fit.

 

Anyone else have anymore info or comment on what he said?

 

The P8R comes from the factory with a 2 layer head gasket. Installing the P8R will lower your compression ratio unless you have had it milled. But just order Stock 3 layer gasket and you will be fine

 

See I've thought about that, but didn't know if it would lower the compression. Do you know how much I should shave the head to get it back to the 9:5-9:6 CR?

 

According to www.zealautowerks.com .045" assuming that you have b20b pistons still. I dont know all of your details so go to that site and playaround with the specs and see what you come up with

 

So you have a b20 block, and you have a b20 head, and your asking what gasket you need?

 

Yes, for a low compression B20 P8R head......bigger (vtec) intake valves and bigger combustion chamber. So yes I curious about which head gasket to use, either for the head or buy it for the block. Darnizzle, thanks for the help.....because my friend gave me that head and I would really like to use it. My first build where I'll be swapping heads.
