Just realized that one of my headlights is brighter then the other one now. What could it be? Could the bulb be going bad soon? And I seen that my high beam indicator is glowing really really dim when just my low beam is on, not my high beam.

I think your right, the dim side looks like its face a little lower then the bright side, ill have to go replace it now, thanks bro

It is and it isn't. DDM DOES sell a full kit at $30, however, this isn't the DDM tuning HID kit. It's $40. (not that it really matters)

I have the DDM ( no longer in my car) but it lasted 3 years with 0 issues until one of ballasts took a ****. They also come with a "lifetime warranty," but it's a bunch of bull **** to actually get them to cover it. I finaly got pissed and said **** it with mine.

So yes, DDM does sell a somewhat nice HID kit for cheap.

 

A true full kit would include basic things like mounts. The DDM kit doesn't. You also have to pay extra if you have dual filament beams (good bye most 96-00 Civics?). Right there, you've raised the price to $54 before shipping.

Also (and this is being nit picky, but still stands), for it to be a true "full kit", it would also need, at the very least, projector housings for a proper and slightly less illegal beam pattern. DDM doesn't even offer this.

It's great that yours lasted 3 years. Myself and three friends all bought HIDs a few years back, for our Honda, two Acuras, and one Subi. I'm the only person who paid more than $50 for mine, and mine are also the only ones that are still working to this day. They've also had issues with flickering, DOA ballasts, and even mismatched bulbs. I'd rather spend a little more now than a lot more later.

Unless you retrofit projectors none of you have any business driving on public roads with a HID kit. It's blinding to other drivers and reduces your visibility. Especially ANYTHING over 5k. 4300k is optimal.

The hi/low thing I don't agree with as much, simply becuase almost all "kits" are like that. Not just DDM... Or with my last kit, they give that bull **** halogen "high beam." That is the biggest freaking joke! Output is just simply embarassing.

That would affect all 92-00 civic's. I have the hi beam option and I'm not going to lie it's nice to have, but the output really isn't that great. I do use it, and it helps but it leaves a lot to be desired. Even at $~54 it's still not that bad, even if you only get 3 years out of it. With that said, 2-3 of my friends are pushing 4-5 years with no issues.

The one thing I can say, is the DDM kit is probually the best I have ever used. They use very large sheilds (make others look like tin foil.) There is next to no glare, and what little glare is there does not seem to affect traffic. Until douche bag with his high beams on catches mine.


My last kit I paid $130 for it. It was toast in a year. Which just so happens to be the length of the waranty.

 

I feel like this whenever I see auto parts warrantied for a short period of time. Whatever it is, if its warrantied for 3 months/6 months/1 year, whatever, it will last that exact period of time, minus a week or so.

 

This is very true. My HP laptop made it 24 days after the waranty expired before my HD took a ****.

My kit came with a high/low relay built in, and didn't cost me anything extra. Also didn't require any extra wiring - just plugged right in.

 

I am well aware the some kits are like that, but for the most part they aren't. Of course this depends on what Brand the kit is.

My $130 kit didn't. I could buy 2 Hi/low DDM kits for what I paid for one kit. My DDM kit outlasted my much more expensive kit by 3 years, in my opinon that is saying something. And not just becuase I got lucky.


IMO, You should never put a PNP kit in a car without projectors, but how many people are actually going to listen? If your going to get a PNP kit, atleast get a quality one.
