Default how often have u changed, or have u ever changed ur intake filter?

when do u kno u need to change ur intake filter(i have a CAI on 1998 accord 4 cylinder), mines is a K&N filter, but for some reason, it seems pretty dirty. i have cleaned it a few times(had my intake on for the last 1.5 year), but it seems it has a small crack even. som1 is selling a Tenzo R air filter, not a bad price, for a 98+ accord like mines. does any1 kno if this is reputable as a K&N, any difference in durability if i maintain it well. i kno these things dont do much, but are they known for as good performance. i kno its fraction of a fraction of a HP, but still. some brands are just better than others.

intake filter doesnt need to be change. My friend sold over couple thousands of intake and filter. The only reason i will change the filter is because the filter is damage due to rubbing again metal or something.
I use to have K&N filter too, it's alright i guess.
i use HKS super mega flow filter now, 3 inch one.
it's much better compare to regular kind but the filter element seem to be getting
dirty much faster(i have CAI also) maybe due to the fact the filter is right behind the vent in the bumper.
too bad the green filter pad cost like 15dollar, HKS YO!~

With those HKS bad boy you can heard the difference..
it's very easy to clean, all you need to do is screw off the top bolt
by hand and take out the green filter and wash that sucka.
Green pad is standard for HKS SMF
blue pad is for something else...maybe thicker material and smaller holes..

thxs man, well, like i said, i have a crack it seems, me and my friend have accord 6th generation, and his in a hot air, and his seems in much better condition, i put mines on maybe 2 months b4 him. he cleaned it maybe once more than i did. mines is very dirty, i cant get rid of some of the dirt, i think i need to buy a stronger cleaning substance. and part of it even seems cracked, like a tear on the fabric, almost like my K&N filter is cheap. maybe those suckas sent me a knock off filter.

CAI filter dirty and "wear out" faster due to the facts that it's expose to the dirts and sh_ts on the road. I use to have short ram intake, it's easy to clean and all that but once i got my CAI ..i would never go back..
I use some rubber pad to wrap around the part where the metal rubs.
BTW get some HKS knock off and then add some real HKS filter element that way it will last alot longer. Since the case/shell of HKS
filter is Metal(so are the knock-off) and the you can always wash and clean the filter pad.

thxs bro, u helped alot. my filter looks very dry and dirty compared to his hot air intake, ur right, mines get much dirtier faster. is it normal to have a filter dry lookin? most people say they just have dirty buildup, mines is so dry lookin, likes like some small portions of the filter has cracks.

i am going to the apex-i power intake as it is the best filtering of all brands and just as free flowing
