Default dash cover question

driving a 98 coupe and when i drive on a realy hot day ill have the ac on the only problem is the sun makes me still hot like its reflecting onto me and the car is hot but the ac is blowing cold air onto me.

i was wondering if puting one of those black (or whatever color) molded carpet dash covers would help any of that or if they sun even reflects off of the dash board at all.

Default Re: dash cover question

It could be a myth, but my automotive instructor always had that in his truck... They do absorb the heat differently from the dashboard itself, but I have no first-hand experience with those covers. Although....

...I know what you mean, if your car is a black or dark color it'll just absorb the heat and the interior will be a sauna unlike a lighter color. I had a problem with the heat throughout last year in high school and the friends never really enjoyed riding with me because I had no aircon at the time and it was always hot so, I:

-Got a sun visor/reflector. (this changes so much)
-Got window visors and lowered my windows less than an inch (window visors installed in the case of rain and to hide the fact my windows were slightly lowered)
-Tried putting a large white towel on my dash for a few days, I think it worked or it was all in my head but it just felt so weird. Again, my automotive instructor always had a towel on his truck too along with a dash cover so I assume it helped.
-Tint, if I didn't have super dark tint, my car would've been not a sauna but a volcano.
