Help with timing on my da9!
So I'm trying to get te timing done after changing my head gasket and I'm very confused on the part with the harmonic balancer, there are four grooves on it and there is suppose to be a painted groove but I can't tell which one it is lol. There are three grooves next to each other and one far away which one do I line up to the timing belt cover? Thanks if you can help me out :D
Yes but the distributor only goes in one way and I know I have the plugs in the right piston spots so I'm just wondering how do I do the timing on the belt I don't have a light to work with either lol. So when I line the cams to #1tdc and the crank to #1tdc which line should it be on the lone one or the one in the middle of the three on the harmonic balancer?

You need the timing gun to adjust the timing.
If you are re-installing the timing belt, use the single mark on the harmonic balancer to like up with the mark on the front engine cover; this lines up the crank @ TDC.
Once that is done, you use the center of the three marks on the harmonic balancer with a timing light, so that cylinder #1 spark plug wire triggers the light when that same mark on the engine cover lines up with the center line of that group of three.
If you don't have a light, buy or borrow bro. You can try and wing it and possibly get lucky without a timing light but that's asking for poor performance (knocking, poor performance, poor mileage, etc).

Timing-belt alignment is independent of the accessory-drive pulley. Belt timing is established my matching the triangular marks on the oil pump and on the toothed crank pulley, and the marks on the cam pulleys.
The 3+1 notches on the accessory-drive pulley (installed over top of the toothed crank pulley) are used for ignition timing, and you MUST rent or otherwise acquire a timing light to set the ignition timing properly.
Succeeding the attainment of certain critical conditions, ignition timing is correctly set when the middle mark of the group of three lines up with the mark on the plastic timing-belt cover when illuminated by the timing light.
