`97 D16y7 running/ignition/issues
So let me start from the beginning...Bought this car not running and from a local auction. Was in a slow speed frontal impact, bumper, hood, fender, headlamps, radiator were all damaged and replaced.
- First thing that scared me was that when I pulled the radiator and hoses, No coolant came out...Even on the lower rad hose.
Three weeks later...I get the car all repaired and running today and it ran good for about 5-8 minutes then just died. Fired back up but then had a miss, Pulling plug wire #3 had no effect on the engine idle...
Check for spark and fuel, I have both.
Pulled all four plugs, All had a light yellow liquid on
the bottom of the boots = Coolant.
So I'm thinking BHG.
Did a dry compression check
1# 175psi --- 2# 160 psi --- 3# 175 psi --- # 158 psi
Drained oil and coolant.
No oil in the coolant, No coolant in the oil.
This confuses me further.

Give me info - comments - help guys.

You don't need coolant/oil mixing to verify a blown head gasket. You have coolant on the plug boots, and your compression numbers are out of spec. It's time to rip the head off.
I dont think the compression numbers are that out of spec, 175-160 is very normal for a 15 year old car and the 150 isnt that bad.
Pulled the codes today nothing besides a bad o2 sensor circuit reading.
If I knew I had a bhg I'd rather buy a replacement engine than hope its just the head that is bad, if it over heated and had a bhg..The block could be cracked as well.
What would be the next step for verifying that it has a bhg if in case it does.
