Default ITR Cluster to 97 LS; Fuel Gauge Not Working;

greeting everyone, thanks for the help in advance.

I recently swapped my 97 LS cluster with a friend that had a ITR one in his 94 teg. i installed my new ITR Cluster with plugin it in, but there are some things that doesn't work right immediately.

Things NOT working,
  • Fuel Gauge;
  • Battery Light;

Need Reassignment

ABS (this is where the SRS light was in the other cluster, before the swap was on, so i think i need to use the seatbelt marker instead)

Seatbelt (is located where the abs light was so i thing i only need to swap it
with the ABS, ABS was on, pump is not working)

Need Explanation on;

the Check Engine Light Was Off but now its on a random basis, i need to know if its well mapped.

green film means getting another whole cluster;

you take the film off your ls harness.

or you just use a 96-97 spec itr cluster.

in order for this cluster not to be working and the fact it did work in an obd1 gsr means that it has obd1 film on it.

meaning that my only solution is to buy another 97 LS cluster and swap the green film with this one?

i thought this problem could be resolved with repin some wires in the connectors of the cluster. now i need to hunt another cluster;

not at all. honestly may be easier to just sell that cluster to an obd1 owner and buy a 96-97 cluster from http://www.jdmdirectimport.com/index...ction=tag&id=3 for $100 shipped which is the same as you would be able to sell your obd1 converted R cluster for

i thought you got it from a friend? see if he still has the jdm film.

obd has nothing to do with the cluster. 94-97 are the same.

looking at the diagram in the back of the cluster, it looks like on 98+ the fuel signal wire is at pin b1, and on 94-97 it is on b3. try moving the pin over?

i suppose you could switch the pins for abs + the seat belt light if you wanted to also.

i think this is the way to go, cause if you replace the film, i think you will be reading a inaccurate info on your cluster (like speed, and rpm), repin is the way to go, if it was working in a 94 teg, i think that the previous car owner did the same thing, just repin it;

the change has to be simple, its inverting the ABS and SeatBelt and getting the fuel gauge to work. i will try this tomorrow;

why would it be inaccurate? the sensors are still the same between the two.

easiest way is just swap the gauges from one to the other (white housing) and make sure the films on the right ride that have the abs, door, seat belt etc.
