Can anybody tell me what this engine is? I have seen blue top f20b's but never a black top, it's obviously dohc vtec, does anybody know about this?

 

Any more details?? Where did you see it? They could have just changed the valve cover..

 

I have it sitting in my backyard haha. A friend gave it to me. It was his brother's project he gave up on and he says it is a jdm f20b, which seems to be a destroked h22 except I have only found/read about blue tops. Could this be an older model or what? I will post pics ASAP

He could have just changed the valve cover. What size is the throttle body? F20b/ euro-r cams have a blue tint on the cams. You should be able to tell by taking the valve cover off and shinning a light to them. Take pictures of intake manifold and camshafts if you get a chance.

best way to find out for sure is to take the valve cover off and see if the camshafts have a blue tint.
