Default dpfi vs. mpfi

Before anything yes I searched, but didnt find out what exactly things are. To my unerstanding, the CRX DX has DPFI and the HF and SI has MPFI.

What is DPFI and FPFI, and what is the benifit of having MPFI?

Thanks.

Better flow of air. One injector per cylinder instead of 2 in a throttle body. It also responds better to mods than DPFI. Since the DPFI was orignally made for economy.

switching to MPFI was the best thing i could have done to my motor. if youre contemplating on whether to do it or not, DO IT!!!!!!

Thanks for the quick reply guys. If DPFI is for economy, than why does the CRX DX have it, and not the HF?

even thou HF is MPFI, the intake manifold/throttle body is like 1/3 the size of an SI. so an HF motor actaully produces less HP than a DX.

I see, thanks. As you can see I dont have much knowledge on CRX, but I'm learning.

If you want to swap a B-series, or even a SOHC VTEC motor in a DX, you dont need to convert to MPFI do you since you're swaping motors anyway? Or am I wrong?

All of the engines you might swap in, ZC, b16A, etc., are all MPFI. You will have to do the wiring and such when you swap engines

yes you do have to convert to MPFI if youre planning on doing any type of swap whether it be sohc vtec or a b series because those motors are all MPFI.

Well if they come with the whole swap, wont they come with the parts needed for MPFI?

yes, if you get a complete motor, then you will have all the parts for MPFI, but you still have to do the wiring for it
