88 honda civic 4dr motor swap
I have a 1988 honda civic four door. I would like to do a b18c motor swap and i would like to know the best place to order it, and i would like to know if there are any upgrades that would improve the motor that i can do before i drop it in.
best thing to do before you drop it in is do maintenance, timing belt, water pump, tensioner because those things are a pain to do when the engine is in the car.
youll never get a "new" engine, the miles vary from engine to engine on hmotors. i bought my b20b from them and first thing i did was timing belt, a new OEM water pump and belt tensioner. Rather be safe then sorry.
I find it better to do a complete rebuild. Costs a little more but you get basically a 0 miles engine. But if your going to buy one hmotorsonline, jdmenginedepot, jdmtigerjapanese

if you dont have the correct tools or know how to do a rebuild then i would highly recommend not doing that. If you really want to rebuild it then take it to a reputable shop and have it done right the first time.
Agreed. But I think it depends. Do you want a little more power from a swap or do you see yourself putting 350whp down? If you plan on putting up some numbers I would just take your time and buy everything brand new.
